Since we are producing a vintage 2010 Bordeaux, I totally agree that it’s a great vintage – it’s more masculine and the tannins are more noticeable in both our left bank and right bank Bordeaux. I agree that the wines will be more structured and intimidating than the 2009s.

Nice article and interview. The inherent problem is "perfection" as limited by the lack of headroom above 100 points. The rating system has reached a point of compression, and is not applied with consistency among the top tasters. Mr. Molesworth has never given a 100 point score. Mr. Parker has never given anywhere close to as many as he did for 2009. Bordeaux will continue to push quality for the next several decades. How would these improvements be recognized? Agree that today's second wines often exceed prior firsts. Ergo, today's firsts are beyond compare. Sadly so are the prices, which do not suffer a similar impenetrable upper boundary, but with 2010 it appears the upper limits were severely tested in some cases. We shall see. Most have long agreed with Mr. Parker that no one should have such outsized influence. Will be interesting to see what's next, or whether there needs to be anything, or anyone, next. Thanks for the feature interview.

Dear Bob, I understand why you would be criticized - you have always attracted a disproportionate influence on this still immature market. I have always been a fan of your reports, integrity and hard work, and I tremendously enjoyed your -almost- candid judgement on the 2009 vintage. This vintage also blew me away and I agree 200% with you. Thank you for these 32+ years of hard work & great (yet deserved) fame. You have helped make the world of fine wine a wonderland for the generation to come.
