Last week Mouton Rothschild accounted for 22% of trade by value on Liv-ex, its highest share for just over a year.
The driver of this trade was Mouton 1996 (LWIN 10135441996) which has seen a flurry of trade over the last two weeks. With fourteen years in bottle, the wine carries a host of high scores (including 96 points from James Suckling), yet it was trading at just £2,850 per 12x75 last week, a price last seen in April 2010.
Have buyers woken up to an opportunity? Prices have already started to edge up – the latest bid this morning was for £3,000. (For consumer access to Liv-ex latest Bids and Offers, and historical price charts like the one below, please visit www.cellar-watch.com).

A very useful site with lots of interesting papers and articles. No doubt it will be very useful and invaluable to research work.
