We are pleased to announce that a UK-based Cellar Watch user has won the competition to guess the end of year index level for the Liv-ex Fine Wine 100.
Users were asked to predict the December 31st level back in September, when the Liv-ex 100 was 260.08. Predictions were overwhelmingly bullish, and although the index fell over the next two months it rose 1.3% in December to end the year at 260.78 – 0.7 points above the September level.
The user who wins the magnum of Montrose 2003 (below) predicted an end of year level of 260.86, which was in the lowest 30% of all guesses. A very close second predicted 260.69.
